Sunday Morning with Fin

Tuesday, 1st April, 2008

It’s not often I get the chance to take ‘proper’ pictures of my son, Fin. He thinks if I have my camera then I’m about to go to work and he’s not going to see me, so he’s not usually into it.

But last Sunday morning he came up to me and said, “Take my picture, Daddy”. Then he went and put his best shirt on!

I was speechless, but quickly grabbed my camera and shot a few of him sitting on the table in the window light before he got bored (about 30 seconds) and went off to build something out of baked bean tins. He’s cute, isn’t he…

Roman Gods at Crown Primary

Tuesday, 4th March, 2008

Roman Gods were at Crown Primary this afternoon: Neptune, Minerva, Vulcan, Apollo, and more besides. I was very polite and respectful, so they let me take some pictures. I didn’t even have to make sacrifices.

Football Finals

Tuesday, 26th February, 2008

A couple of lads from the Ross County squad have been coaching the kids at my son’s school. This morning we watched the fruits of their efforts. Young children have a very honest approach to football (get the ball at any cost) and in that quest they move together as one, like a small swarm of bees.

Sam & Bethany

Thursday, 21st February, 2008

Last month there was snow on the summit of the Applecross pass and soft January light. So Sam, Bethany, their mother, Lorraine, and I went looking for places that would do justice to these gorgeous young people. We found an abandoned croft house close to a beach opposite the Isle of Skye, and with the light pouring through an open door, and while the ghosts slept, we took photographs.

Innes

Thursday, 14th February, 2008

Innes is three. He’s an artist, and he has a bit of an obsession right now with Mary Poppins. He also moves about a lot, and quite quickly too, so while this photoshoot was great fun, it was a challenge! Visit Innes’ slideshow here.
