Commercial Photography: Our Process
For those less familiar with commissioning a photographer, this is a summary of our four step process:
Step 1: The Brief
Your brief should be as detailed as possible to help us provide an accurate estimate of costs. It should include the kind of images you want, approximate number required, and details about the media in which they will be used.
If you're not sure about the brief we can provide free consultation.
When the brief is defined we send our estimate and, once approved, a booking confirmation form and our Terms and Conditions. Then we block out the time in our calendar.
Step 4: Proofing and Mastering
Usually within 24 hours of the shoot we upload partially edited images to an online proofing gallery (a physical contact sheet can also be sent if required).
During the next 7 days (longer by agreement) you and/or your team select "keepers", which are promoted to the digital mastering phase: each of your selections is given expert treatment in Photoshop® where the real magic of professional digital photography occurs.
Fully edited images in formats for both print and web are uploaded within 7 days (48 hours with our express service) to a private webpage from where you can download them. We keep this page on our server for 14 days, providing an option to extend if required.
In summary, our process uses the latest in digital and online technology to provide optimum quality as efficiently as possible.
