Family Portaits

I just spoke to Eira, whose wedding I photographed at Inverlochy Castle in early January. She said she doesn’t know why I don’t post more pics of my charming and cute wife and son. It’s a fair point. I do, now and again, but – well – it’s not easy getting pictures of them. I can get other people – pretty much anybody – to interact with the camera. I can even get dogs to pose nicely:

But when it comes to getting pics of Fin and Elspeth…it can be a lonely and harrowing experience. Last Sunday, for example, I was trying to get my lighting sorted at home before the hair shoot at the salon that afternoon. I was using a teddy bear as a model, but he kept falling over. Teddy bears can be like that – sooooooo indifferent:

Eventually I managed to tear Fin away from CBBC. This is the absolute best he could manage (I have no idea where the military salute comes from – I’m not a strict father):

So I asked Elspeth to help. She’s a great photographer but ironically (and like most women) she doesn’t like being in front of the camera. If you see her please don’t tell her I’ve posted this image – she’ll divorce me:

See? It’s a problem. Having said that, I do have some good pics from a few weeks back. Fin was learning to ride his bike at the local park and I, being the proudest puffed-up dad you can possibly imagine, took a whole lot of pictures. These are some of the best ones, posted especially for you, Eira!

Not before time! I love the ones of Finn, and the black and white one of Elspeth is lovely, though the colour one is a little somber not at all like the Elspeth that helped make my wedding day such fun! If only there had been another camera on her you would have seen her in her in a completely new light.
Thank you for sharing them with us and I hope the first of many more, and don’t forget the wonderful scenery that you have up there

I think it’s high time the ‘Seymour Photography’ website contained at least one image of the man himself. Cue Elspeth with a camera for some payback me thinks! By the way, all the new images are fantastic, keep up the good work.
